This history of C-1-23 will be a work in progress for as long as we are able to maintain this web site. It is our hope that it will be more about people than about battles. We want it to cover the period spanned by date of activation until deactivation at the end of WW II. Its growth will depend a very much on the memories and recollections of former company members and their willingness to contribute. As it grows we will add to the content that is displayed on this web site. We hope that everyone will help out with their thoughts and memories of their days as a member of C-1-23. We all suffered from tunnel vision because to a large degree our world was mostly limited to our squad or platoon or other similar group. Thus we will each have our unique view of events. We need all viewpoints in order to get a clear and rounded picture.
The author of this C Company history is John Seymour and Rowland Lewis is web master. We urge all former Company members to contribute their memories and experiences to this history. We also believe that widows and children of former members may have important information to contribute such as; letters and memorabilia.
