Raymond L. Secules Obituary

Raymond L. "Zeke" Secules, 84, decorated Marine and recent hometown hero of Williamsport, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 7, 1925 in Williamsport, he was a son of LaRue and Bertha Secules.

Zeke was a decorated Marine Veteran of World War II and the Korean War earning three purple hearts in addition to many other medals. He had worked as a salesman for Winchester Optical for many years. He was a member of Marine Corps League Williamsport Detachment # 388 with which he had marched with their color guard and honor guard. He was a member of Marine Corps League, Deer Xing, Ralston, Veterans of Underage Military Service, Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County, and F&AM Lodge # 755, and Williamsport Consistory. Zeke enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Surviving are his wife, Janet Taylor Secules, daughter Sharon L. "Cookie" (Jeffrey) Secules-Mutchler, of South Williamsport, three grandchildren; Christy (Victor) Brace-Harvey, Sherri (Kevin) Tallman, Kelli (Stephen) Yeagle, seven great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, three step-children; Donna (HG) Thomas, Charlene (Dave) Ritter, Debie (J.D.) Dietz, four step great grandchildren, and four step great great grandchildren and two brothers Richard and Jack Secules.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine Secules, who passed away in 2005.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. Burial will be in Picture Rocks Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sanders with honor guard by the Marine Corps League.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may made be made in his name to Korean War Veterans (KWV) of Lycoming County, P.O. Box 3232, Williamsport, Pa 17701.
