04 June 2010: The Passing of Rowland Lewis

Dear Friends,

As Rowland would say it, "It is my sad duty to report that..." Rowland Lewis himself passed away this morning. Keiko and their son, Paul visited him last night in the nursing home, and he was alert enough to enjoy a "light-hearted" visit with them, as Kay put it. Then she recieved the call this morning that he had passed.

She is meeting tonight to make funeral arrangements, and when we hear back from her, either Jo or I will send the information on to you in case you need it. Since we don't have everyone's email address, if you wish to contact anyone else in the association and don't see their name listed in the "To" list of this email, please feel free to do so.

There is no way to tell you how much I and my family respected him for his military contributions, his selfless research and work on the C-1-23 website, as well as his friendship with my Dad, John Seymour, and the rest of the association. We have indeed encountered a deep loss.

Sincerely,

Joline (Seymour) Doersam
