Camp Lejeune Globe: ‘Fighting Fourth’ gathers for muster

World War II veterans with the 4th Marine Division Association assemble for a deactivation ceremony at Liversedge Field aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune as part of their final muster Aug. 6. Maj. Gen. Paul W. Brier, 4th Marine Division commanding general, was the guest of honor. The Marines and sailors of 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment and the 2nd Marine Division Band were the ceremonial units rendering honors to the association on the parade field. Elmer Dapron, the association’s national president, presided over the retiring of the unit’s colors.
