Obituary

Peacefully at home on Sunday, August 16, 2009, Roy C. Haas, 85, of McCandless Twp. Son of the late Charles and Josephine Haas. Survived by his wife of 58 yrs, Mildred Jane, daughters, Cathy Heintz (Joe) and Joy Bovan (Michael), sons Guy Haas and Wayne Haas (Mary), grandchildren Jamie, Jeffrey, Louise, Emily, and Rachael. Friends received Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Simons Funeral Home Inc., 7720 Perry Hwy. Funeral Service in St. John’s Lutheran Church of Highland, 311 Cumberland Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 on Wednesday at 11 AM. Roy was a Marine veteran of WW II and a retired steamfitter of Local #449, Pittsburgh, and a long time member of St. John’s. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church for the before-service snacks & coffee, which he enjoyed.
